Privacy Policy

Last updated 2026. This policy explains how Storko handles personal information in line with South Africa's Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA).

What we collect

When you contact us or book a call, we collect the information you provide directly — name, email, store URL, and message content. If you become a retainer client, we also hold billing contact details, Shopify store access details, and records of work performed under your retainer.

How we use it

To respond to inquiries, schedule and manage calls, deliver retainer work, and send invoices and related billing communications. We do not sell your information, and we don't use it for anything beyond running our working relationship with you.

Third parties

We use third-party services to run Storko, including Resend (email delivery), Vercel (hosting and file storage), and Wise (international payment). These providers process data on our behalf under their own privacy terms, and we only share what's needed for them to perform that function.

Data retention

We retain client and billing records for as long as needed to deliver services and meet accounting and tax obligations under South African law, and delete or anonymise records we no longer have a legitimate reason to keep.

Your rights

Under POPIA, you can ask us what personal information we hold about you, request a correction, or ask us to delete it (subject to what we're legally required to retain, e.g. invoices for tax purposes). Email us using the details below and we'll respond within a reasonable time.

Security

Client files and billing records are stored with access controls appropriate to their sensitivity — invoices, signed agreements, and uploaded assets are only ever accessible to you and to Storko, never publicly.

We may update this policy as the business or the tools we use change. Material changes will be reflected here with an updated date above.
