Terms of Service

Last updated 2026. These terms cover how we work together in general — individual retainer clients also sign a specific retainer agreement covering their own scope, hours, rate, and payment terms, which takes precedence over this page where the two differ.

Services

Storko provides Shopify development, website design, and digital marketing services on a fixed-scope project or monthly-retainer basis, as agreed in writing with each client.

Payment

Project deposits are 50% upfront and 50% on delivery. Retainer invoices are issued monthly and due within the period stated on the invoice. Payment is made via EFT (South African clients) or Wise (international clients) unless otherwise agreed. Late payment may pause active work until resolved.

Scope & third-party costs

Retainer hours cover Shopify development and related support as defined in your retainer agreement. Third-party costs — app subscriptions, paid themes, domains, ad spend — are not included and are agreed separately before purchase.

Revisions & change requests

Fixed-scope projects include a reasonable round of revisions within the agreed scope. Requests that go beyond the original brief are treated as new work and quoted separately before starting.

Ownership & handoff

Once a project is paid in full, you own the store, site, and content we built for you. Access credentials, source files, and documentation are handed over at project completion.

Liability

We aren't liable for losses arising from third-party apps, themes, ad platforms, or services we integrate with but don't control, or for issues caused by changes made to the store or site outside of our work. Our liability for any claim is limited to the amount paid for the relevant project or retainer period.

Termination

Either party may end an ongoing retainer with written notice, per the notice period stated in the individual retainer agreement. Work already invoiced remains payable.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa.
